Re: Cheaper Insurance?

Youve got no hope Of getting anything cheap if your spending 300-400 quid on a car

If you are spending a few grand then you will get a lot cheaper qoute

Re: Cheaper Insurance?

Is there something you are not telling us?

The prices you are being quoted seem far in excess of what anyone else is paying.

Cheers

I am aware of that but with policies from Admiral and Elephant you can be a named driver whilst being listed as the main driver of the vehicle. It would thus be recognised by your insurance company and should be listed under your certificate of motor vehicle insurance. I don't know the price of this though as you cannot be the legal owner of the car being insured as the named, main driver.

Hmm, really? i cant see the sense in that but you know a lot more than me i just wish i had a few grand to spend on a car. I cant think of anything im not telling you, the only thing is that the car will be parked on a road at night time, but ive got quotes saying it was parked on a drive and it was only slightly cheaper. Maybe its just my location? Is stoke on trent a rough place?

Cheers

Its simple really, they like a newer car, better emissions, in the low tax bracket, more safer etc all the things they want to hear that arent as much as a risk obviously you pay more for the vehicle to get these things

They hate the cheap old car like a 15 year old cinq

Re: Cheaper Insurance?

i got a quote on a 1.6 1997 mazda mx5 2 seater and it was 1800 a year (im 20 btw) 0 years ncb, and was told a 2 seater is slightly cheaper on insurance because there is less people in the car if there was a serious accident lol! - in theory it makes sense - i dont see how your getting like 6000 quotes lol at your age, my mate is 17 with a 1.1 1997 106 and its 1800 a year lol - did u say your occuaption was a amateur street racer or something lol

Re: Cheaper Insurance?

I dont know how im getting such bad quotes either to be honest, i cant think of anything im filling in wrong and ive filled hundreds of the things in. The only other thing i can think of is if the Car is classified a CAT D or anything like that, it would make sense with it being so cheap. I think im going to keep searching for a different car, centos seem to be popping up all over the place around here..

The insurance companies will also run on the basis that if you spend more on a car you will treat it a bit better, be far more causcious with it and respect alot more than a 'banger' piece of 300-400 quids worth.
