I suppose the following could be put in any of the sections but being a Cento owner and the need for any mods being paramount, I read and only read the following with interest.

Optimax is used by some but I wonder if anyone has any insight to the following? Possibly as we all well know only useful for turbo applications.

DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility for the likely damage anyone causes to themselves and their cars through reading this email. Toluene is a level 3 carcinogen as is Xylene
and MTBE.

The following is for information and discussion only. Put it into practice at your own risk!

Now read the above again!

Now, I've found out that most octane boosters found in Halfords are Kerosene
based, but whilst kerosene will up the octane rating it will also increase the
chance of detination (not sure why). Toluene on the other hand is supposed to reduce
the risk of detination whilst also increasing the octane rating.

First up we have a guide on homebrew petrol octane boosters:

Further reading on Toluene:

Where to get Toluene:

At £12 a litre its not cheap, but a 10% mix when running optimax will result in
close to 100RON. An example taken from the Audi article formula applied to my
car:
My Tank holds about 12 gallons. Filling it with 11 gallons of
98 octane and 1 gallon of toluene (114 octane) will yield a fuel mix of:

(11 * 98) + (1 * 114) / 12 = 99.33

An informative thread on the GTR forums:

Another, slightly cheaper option, but one that sounds seriously dodgy:
"I use bog standard pump gas and add Tetrosyl thinners at a ratio of 5litres
petrol to 1liter thinners. The standard cellulose thinners they do contain
Xylene/Toulene and a tiny amount of Methanol. A 5 litre can cost £5.99 at
Wilcos."

And finally, an article describing the differences of Octane ratings, RON, MON
and PON:

A final WARNING:

i used to spend most of my school holidays out in a tanker delivering Toluene and Xylene, i breathed in loads of it, a lot of the time i was on top of the tanker with the pot open seeing how much was left when it was being unloaded
Good job it didn't affect you, Dave :|

Lol - that would be a lot of scribbles then ;)

Depends on the space you are writing in - I have to fill in a lot of small boxes, can be hard sometimes.

What if it isnt happy running 95 RON fuel...eg: running a 10: CR and pinking like buggery....

My understanding is high N2O boosts can cause pinking, so ignition retard/ advance is needed, or compression lowering...Rob, suppose you could clarify that?
