Morning,

Our Sporting does overheat, having had a look and poke around I have observed the following;

The fan does not work - blown fuse

I replaced the fuse and the fan spins but then blows the fuse straight away.

Bypassed the fan switch with a piece of copper wire, and the fan starts but then the fuse blows again.

Disconnect the fan and replace the fuse, obviously the fan does not work, but the fuse does not blow either.

Is this suggesting that the fan motor is the problem ?

Other than a Fiat bit is there a cheaper alternative to this ?

Thanks

Del

it does sound like the motor is kaput.

Does it spin freely by hand, check that its not catching on anything as that'd stop it and blow the fuse.

A new fan from fiat is around 60quid. You've not said if you have a cinq or sei, if you have a sei - and get the part from fiat, get the Cinq fan not the sei fan (its the same part and half the price!)

I'm not sure where else sells them, but its worth checking scrappys and checking on here see if anyone is breaking one.

Don't let it keep overheating, they eat head gaskets!

Thanks for that.

It is a Cinq.

When testing I took the fan out and had it resting on the floor (it could spin freely).

I will look into getting one from a breaker.

Thanks

Del
