This is probably the best section to try (y)

On MS with a 1368cc I have run:

2 seperate coil packs
16v Mk2 single moulded coil pack
FIAT's own BAE 403 Coil On plug (driven in sequential/semi/batch with various drivers)
LS2 coils (my god they are powerfull, but a pain to mount properly!!)

I want to run a coil on plug but with built in drivers.

Here is the specification of the fiat coil on plug, this is the same for 1242 16v and 1368cc 16v heads.

The VAG drivers look like they could be a good substitute, but I don't want to spen ££ on comparing them to find they don't fit.

Has anyone used VAG COP's on a 16v engine??

Looking here, they supply them in 140mm or 165mm overall height:

The height of the BAE 403 being 163mm. I haven't a clue on the width etc though.

Any ideas or though, please shout up :)

They do look VAG, i'm on club polo so I can ask around if anyone has a set if you want?

EDIT: Perhaps it's the seal that make up the width of the COP's. Think i mentioned that the other day aswell but can't remember.

Thanks

Yeah, they are definatly not fiat, so something else will fit.

I'm after the dimensions of the VAG part: 06B 905 115L

which is the one I linked in the auction, mainly diameter and length.

I may just buy a single one to see if it fits, or can be made to fit.

Cheers,

Kristian

Cheers :)

The other option looks like abarth stuff. The 500 abarth runs:

FIAT: 55213613

which is a Bosch part: 0-221-504-024

Looking at a picture of it, it looks like it has a large head, large enough to be housing the ignition driver, but thats pure speculation.

Off to the abarth section now to do some research (not that I'm holding out much hope lol)

Hi Kristian, not sure if this helps, but here a picture of a Sei t-jet build in Poland. What should I ask the guy? Whether there is a built-in igniter in this thing? He will surely have to know, as this is going to be VEMS controlled. (Very very neat project by the way, almost completed :D)

 how clean is that engine bay!!! :yum:

Ain't it? There is no compromise in this project, and the author has enough patience to carry it out. With his permission I will post the link to the full gallery some time. (His development thread is behind a username+password :().

But, I am hijacking Krisitan's thread for the second time in a few days  Really sorry mate, will try to control myself ;)

Hey, its not a hijack lol. yeah if u can ask him what they are it would be very interesting :)

Well, maybe not hijack, but introducing garbage anyhow ;)

I asked, he said, simply: "I also do not know much about coils, but there is nothing else between the ECU and them and they are compatible with SA-s".
