hi all, well ive been doing so much on my sei and things still arent right!!

ive got the dreaded knocking from the back so ive now got some poerflex bushes for the rear, but also noticed that my car would come to a slow stop by itself an had a seizing caliper :bang:

had this off and overhauled it and things seemed better, but now as i drive, and i notice it more at slower speeds, i get a speed related "dum, dum, dum" noise that seems to be coming from the front!!

it cant be the caliper again as i even changed the front discs and pads incase they had warped,

what i was thinking, is could a wheel bearing on the way out cause this kind of noise or maybe even a cv joint (doesnt make the usual clunk noise going round corners!)

any help would be great!!! :worship:

Does the noise change when you lightly press the brake pedal?

Does the noise change as you go round a corner?

Did you make sure the mating surfaces on the disc/hub were clean?

Is the disc sitting centrally in the caliper holder?

Have you checked for any run out on the disc?

Cheers

D

hi guys, thanks for the replies,

well i cleaned eeeevery surface and replaced with new discs and pads and liberal coats of copper grease but still got the dum dum noise!

it doesnt change when i press the brake pedal or pull on the handbrake tho

im thinking bout changing the front bearings, would i be right in this or could shot cv joints make this noise as it gets slightly worse when i go round a corner at about 15mph??
