right as you may all know by now i have a squeeky sei. My garage is driving me up the wall! I took the baby back in to the garage today to have a further investigation for the squeel, after them making me pay for a new pump i have now been told the engine is only going to last a few more months as the crank moves in the wrong direction! i'm taking it somewhere else. only good point is it will fly through the mot. just 2 new cv boots! I'm seriously thinking of getting rid! what do you think?

He couldn't say he just said he things its the shells and bearings have most probably gone because there is too much play in the cam! i'm taking it to an enginge specialist tomorrow! I really don't want to get rid of her because of the amount i've spent on her! The guy in the garage just turned round and said "what do you expect for a fiat? they're the worst car maker ever"

mmm all the heads ive stripped have no shell bearings in,they just run in the casting.

the guy at the garage obviosely dont know his engines, he said it was the cam at the bottom but even i know the cam is at the top and im no mechanic!!!!! rang paul and he said drop it down this morning,but i was at college. on my way back from college i stoped at BSE(blue star engines,the best engine recon in the area). he said "it sounds as if the t**t who done the cam belt was a d***head and he diddnt know what he was doing", he said it could be a new engine job but wont know until saturday then the takes the belt off and gets in the engine bay to take a closer look, when i say " gets in the engine bay" i mean litteraly. Tango now has very little power so it seems pretty clear it will be a new engine, but hey its gonna b less than £300 for a recon supplied and fitted. and yes i know he wont fob me off because he fitted a recon into my brothers *coughs FORD, he is also straight too the point. like it or not

the guy at BSE took the belt off, put it back on and now it seems to have even less power? :chin:

//edit - why don't you just get him to recon the current engine if thats your plan?

Right, basically the guy said the camshaft was bent then he said the crankshaft is also damaged because it has too much play in it! I took it to a company who do nothing but engines (Blue Star Engines) i took it thursday on the way to college, so hadn't really got time to stop. He asked a few questions like has it had any work done recently? what work was done? who did it? When i told him about the timing belt he asked what twaz.:bang: :nutter: did the job as by the sound of the engine the belt has been over tightened to the extent that it may be beyond repair so it may need a new lump but he asked me to take it back in the morning when he'll do me a free check and release the cambelt to see if it makes any difference even if it only lasts til after christmas! But this guy is straight down to the point! we have used him before, with the brothers car, took it for a new engine got i few drips of oil took it back replaced the sump plug, washer and another oil change and all for nothing as he did the original job. The veiw he has is if you treat people right they will come back or send friends! I'll know more tomorrow dinner time so will let you know then. I'm hoping to get to the meet in stoke on sunday that's all dependant on tomorrow.So fingers crossed :shrug:

no! BSE is going to remove it saturday to take a look
