Hi. Since two days (since it got very hot here, I think there is a connection) I am having strange sounds from behind the central console.

It happens when the car is started (or even on MAR - need to verify this). It's a mechanical sound, sort of cracking, as if some parts are moving behind the dashboard. It's clearly audible, changes a bit and fades after about 20 seconds. No error messages, car runs fine. I think it's related to the air conditioning system (AC is off).

Anyone had this?

It does that all the time...

I think its to do with the air bags or air con system...

It can be the air pumping into the airbag system so in an accident its got air instantly to blow up the bags or can be the air con vents... If I am thinking of the same thing your on about then I dont think its something to worry about...

As I said it only happens for about 20 seconds after starting the car and it appeared 2 days ago.

Appreciate the improvisation on the topic :) but airbags don't work that way. IMO they are sealed in factory and that's it.

Maybe the air vents are adjusting or something, but why now, why so noisy and why if the climate is off...Somebody heard this?

Well... if not air bags..

Im sure its the air con...

I dont think you should worry :)

I think its cool.. my mate heard it and said... "ooooo your car sounds high tech" lol i laughed my ass off...

So may be a good thing too :p

Hi mate,

Is it the same noise as when you press the air-re circulation button? If the climate control is off then the A/C shouldn't be making any noises, however, the air re-circulator flap does work independently of the climate control.

A new and loud sound in the car is definitely not my imagination :)...Good thing is I don't really care, as in most cases I know these "problems" are features, so I just get confirmation here

But only you have these problems.

That is like in the movie

"I see death people"

:D

Try next

when your key is on MAR try to change direction on your climate (up, down, straight)

You have aut. climate, not mehanical like in old cars.

Maybe I'm the only one who notices and then reports everything :) And I wouldn't all of them problems.

This one doesn't seem right though. I'll give it some time to fix itself and will call the garage to ask them if it's really normal...

It's normal.

Try a1ant tip.

Your climate is automatic, and when you switch the key to the MAR, climate regulate blow direction automatically.

Come on guys, I'm one of the most relaxed guys around here :D You can check my recent comment on the "I killed my baby, its heart is dying" thread  I just report everything I notice as it's my first FIAT and I want to know it better. I'm not going to commit suicide or something...

Thanks for the input, I can confirm it is related to the air conditioning and it seems it started since the temperatures rose...

Can anyone tell me where is the air intake pipe/conduct? I own a FIAT BRAVO 1.4 T-Jet 120HP Emotion since June 2008. I have opened the bonnet to see it but still nothing. I also looked into eLEARN but still nothing. I need to know where is the air intake pipe because I have bought an air conditioning system cleaner, named AIRCO CLEANER, and in it's instructions says that the spraying should be done through the air intake pipe.
