Hi everybody,
I just got my bravo t-jet 120 (maranello red) with the sport package installed (rims, interior etc). First impression: I LOVE the CAR!!! But here is a small problem i have.. With the installed cd player i am able to play mp3 cds burned in nero on my laptop (at 10xspeed). However some times especially when turning off and on the engine, the radio will automatically turn on but the message "check disk" appears on the radio. After that it goes into fm mode. Ejecting the cd and reinserting it might fix the problem or not.. its almost random... has anybody experienced such problem?

and another thing: i ve gone through the forums trying to see if there is an auxiliary input to the radio.. no luck.. however when i press the source button, "aux" comes up on the screen? Any luck finding an adapter or something similar?

Thanks in advance!!

i have this problem, and i putted it on forum, but no answers (maybe its better to make our accounts on hmm honda forum, maybe there we could get some answers:confused:)
anyway.....i burned mp3's in nero (speed 20x) and it doesnt work, tried 2 different cd's - nothing... display is alsways saying cd-rom and is ejecting cd.... i tried in my sisters toyota yaris car and it works fine.... :bang:

I had this problem with a MP3 cd, it wont read it but will play normal audio cd's burnt at almost any speed...

Altho honestly i prefer the USB Key with my mp3's on it cause i can change whats on there when i feel like an not continually use cds

Too bad there is no option of installing a usb port after delivery... i was hoping someone here would have come up with a solution to have an input to the radio. even a standard 3.5mm jack would be fine for me :( ..

You should go to your local dealer and fix that mp3 problem under warranty.
Sometimes it appears to me too the message but only when the CD's are scratched.

Quick question on the MP3 CD player: is it any different to the regular one other than the obvious MP3 capability?

I ask as there have been mentions of subwoofers with the stereo upgrade but no info available on Fiat website/brochures about it! Have a feeling the sub may be an option in other countries but not here...

Have ordered it with the MP3 stereo anyway due to sheer quantity of MP3 CD's in my current car - damned if I'm transferring it all to USB sticks when I get the Bravo! ;)

Sounds like you NEED to transfer it to a USB stick lol...

The USB setup they have in the bravo is perfect... I honestly can't fault it, oh wait 1 little issue "Shuffle" isnt very shuffled at times lol. But that aside its fantastic setup...

Trouble is, about 20 CD's at ~650 to 700MB each = something like 13/14GB of music - which is about £60 worth of memory sticks!

I did try plugging an external HDD into a demo Bravo but it didn't work - seems the Bravo can't supply enough power to run a hard drive (drive in question is a 2.5" one that runs perfectly happily off any normal computer's USB power supply).

Mine does not acknowledge USB disk with mp3s on it. Must I do a firmware upgrade with the radio or.. ? I didnt find any Media player installed. What is the procedure of playing mp3s from USB ?

Thx

Assuming you have a ciggy lighter socket you could try using an invertor to power the USB drive (you do have the mains transformer don't you ?)

Well my friend as i discover with my own Bravo the problem is with the size of the data in the CD:bang:
Try writing an MP3 CD up to 500MB and don't burn it with NERO!
NERO doesn't work right for me.

I am wondering the same thing about the AUX display:confused:

Maybe you are right... i remember i tried to stuff as many mp3s as i could in the cd and Nero asked whether i wanted to finalize the session.. Perhaps this is it! i will have a look and get back to you...

FYI when i installed the alarm, i also asked for the aux.. the technician told me that i could change the cable (use an adapter os something like that) behind the unit and have an analog input (3.5mm)... could this be possible? anyway i have already ordered an fm transmittor so if it doesnt work i will check again with the technician....

I bought a cig-lighter to usb power adapter off amazon (cost 1p with £5.50 postage? must be some import fiddle)
It worked in powering up a laptop HDD with 24gb of music on and blue&me read it. However it's not too good and after about 2 weeks blue&me packed up and needed a new CPU. Could be the CPU was the problem and not the symptom but it used to take about 5 minutes for it to start playing, also (i don't know if anyone notices but the usb port activates when the door is opened) it then deactiviates and reactivies when the engine is started, this caused the drive to stall and sometimes it wouldn't restart. Also it caused problems for the phone connecting, perhaps it was too busy cataloging all that data.
I use a couple of 2gb sticks (7.99 from comet) for his and her music. Between them there's about 800 + tracks. More than enough for the average trip IMO
