OH what a day im having :bang: first of all get left way behinf by a nice alpha 156 2.5 16v :slayer: then as pulling of a slip road for work find that i cant change gear and the clutch has gone all slack. luckly brakes work fine how ever then had to sit in the outside lane on the junction while waiting for the tow truck. Find its the slave coil for the hydrolics for the clutch which i am currently waiting for hellcat to pop over with the fit for me as although i work for a garage its a ford garage (n)

Has this happened to many other and should it be a problem i need to keep an eye for recuurence?

Clutch slave cylinder is nice and easy to change. (y)
Make sure you thoroughly bleed the system.
Apart from that, you can periodically check the slave cylinder to see if it's leaking fluid, or if your brake fluid level is dropping.

Boy does he owe me a beer!

You have to realise all this is taking place after I've just finished a 12 hour night shift... In a garden centre car park... In the cold wind...

First I head over after dropping my Marea off at FAST for a cambelt and a bit of examiner time - the legendary air bag light :D

Indeed its the clutch slave cylinder - brake fluid squirting all over.. I head over to the local Fiat garage to get a cylinder - its an order in part and they want the VIN number.. never mind. So I head back to FAST who have one of each type in stock. I buy it from them and go home to tool up. Since Bunny has to go to work I get the Tipo insured :slayer: and head over. Thats when the fun begins.

Unable to take the battery tray out I have to work through the holes or around it - not a lot of space around there in a JTD. Plenty of skin later and its fitted. Replace the battery after bleeding to find its still not working  Go for more bleeding and it seems to be working.. Quick test drive around the car park and its time to go and pick up the Marea and leave the tipo :(

How many beers you think thats worth?

well just to let everyone know that im current at hellcats now didnt buy him a 24 pack as he is driving tomorrow for the new alpha launch so have treated him to 3.5 bottles of chimay which is beglium beer of 9% good stuff. but still i do owe him some stuff

I think I saw your car at FAST today! :slayer:

Was there for some prices and he was workin' on a yellow Coupe and a Marea :)

I'm not sure if I noticed you - sorry  I was on a bit of a mission plus I was totally knackered! There was a guy with a yellow Seicento and a guy with a black rucksack.. Either of them you?

Edit: Just noticed you said car - and not me.. DOH! You could have said Hi to my car but I don't think it would reply!

That coupe was shagged! £3000-4000 for a 16v na in broom yellow with different shades all over panels.. He could have bought a mint Sedicivalvole for that price and have better performance!

I can't remember which cars I had with me at that point.. Marea in the garage and tipo parked outside? If you spotted the FF stickers you should have said Hi!

Oh by the way the guys at FAST did a great job on the Marea.. Even replaced some of the altenator bolts which were missing  from his own car. God only knows what was holding the altenator in...
