Hi,

Have a 98(i think) Brava. The key hasnt worked in the passenger side since ive had it, and it has now stopped unlocking the drivers side. It will however still lock it which is incredibly frustrating.

Key still works fine in the boot and ignition so I'm ruling that out as the cause.

Anyone else had this issue, if so how did you overcome it? I am not keen on taking off the door panel unless I know I can fix it.

Have you ever oiled the locks?
Is the springed flap keeping the dirt out still working?

Thanks for the reply ;)

The springed flap still works fine. Will try oiling it tonight - seeing as it works fine to lock it, I hadn't considered that.

Will report back :)

To lubricate the lock, ideally you need a dry lubricant, but proper lock lube seems to be difficult to find these days. WD40 will do, but don't use oil. As well as being messy, it attracts the dirt, so eventually making matters worse.

We gave WD40 a go, didnt seem to do anything. Just going to take it to a garage I think, I'd have no idea what I'm doing taking the door panel off sadly.

Thanks for the tips.
