Hi i was thinking on getting a hgt spoiler for my sx and was wondering if any one has done this before? Does it have to be screwed or can it be glued? Does any one have any pics of their sx with the hgt spoiler on it?

Thanks.

Its an original hgt spoiler it comes with the screws and bolts to attatch it through the glass but i was wondering if it can be done using tiger seal?

If not how much do u think it would cost to get it screwed through the glass by a pro?

Thanks for the quick reply.

You need to talk to a windscreen centre about that but i'm guessing in the region of about £30 from past experiences...

I dont think theres enough of the spoiler to actually glue to the car plus its designed to be bolted in aswell as sealed... Have you looked at any other spoilers? Theres a few different ones out there :)

I wanted to do the same with my old SX everyone on the forum who commented said glue it with tiger seal. I think cutting off the pegs and glueing the spoiler would be the best compromise unless you have a lot of cash to spare or can find a profesional glass cutter that will guarentee his work.

Autoglass quoted £370 to have the correct glass with holes fitted.

This is the Mk1 parts sheet for the spoiler if its any use.

The spoiler does finnish off the Bravo's looks nicely. (y)

Hi mate the reason i was going for the hgt spoiler was because it was going cheap! I was gonna hold off for an abarth one but seen that and have no patience! Lol

Would anyone recommend drilling the window diy stylee! Lol! Can it really be that hard?

also m20b25 the link u put up of the bravo for sale the spoiler isnt fixed through window?

that isnt an original hgt spoiler? doesnt even look like 1?

It is a HLX/HGT spoiler its just stuck on in the most ridiculous way ever.

I bought a glass drill bit but I did not have the nuts to try. Make sure you get it straight and central (y) good luck, you will need it :D

Lol i thought something wasnt right there! U would have at least taken the mounts for the screws off!

It is one alright but its not been fixed through the window, its been glued in the totally wrong place and actually looks quite silly... But it shows that it can be glued on (altho i dont recomend this...)

How much was the spoiler anyway?

£14.99 including delivery. I thought that was ok? Just need to spray it! I already have everything i need.

hi mate just thought i would add

i had a freind that worked at Auto Glass in Kent and he said that the window could'nt be Drilled because it was tampered glass.
Me being an IDIOT i got a diamond glass driil bit and went ahead with drilling :bang:
i cracked the glass as soon as i touched it with the drill(and i has water aswell)

So i went to the nearest scrappy and bought an imaculate rear door for £25:)

well worth it .

PLS DONT DRILL THE GLASS(n)

Thanks for all the replys guys! Meant to come back to this thread to let you all know how i got on!

I went ahead and got the spoiler, took about 4 weeks to get here due to all the bad weather we had, it was in good condition but wrong colour so i got on with sanding and spraying.
Its fair to say i bottled out of drilling the glass! Decided to go with hack sawing the mounts off and filing the metal down a bit. I then used stuff called PU Flex and glued it on. Its been on a couple of months now and its still solid!
Very pleased only thing im not happy with is the sh**y color match on the halfords mixed rattle cans. Looks ok from some angles but you can definetely notice the difference.

Im going to try and respray it if i can find a better match.

Il also post a couple of pics when shes nice and clean over the weekend.
