right i've got a genuine abarth bravo bumper and i want to modify and fit it to my 98 hgt...

has anyone done this..? any pics available..? how much work is needed to make it fit..? what is the actual measurement differance between the models..?

There isn't any extra work needed to make it fit. It fits but its too short, the lines around the bumper/arch don't meet properly. You can't win. Better to get a HGT one.

As above it falls noticably short roughly an inch or two from the arch line. Ill see if i can get pics later...

This is what you can end up with if you mix the parts. Notice the arch does not line up with the bumper correctly.

So is that an hgt bumper on a lower model bravo..? If so I'm the tiny bit could be smoothed in

aaaah so the bumper could be trimmed back to run inline with the arches then no problem...? /

I would think it would look rubbish. You can get a 3rd party bumper that looks almost identical to the Abarth bumper but fits the HGT.

even if i had it done in the bodyshop..? or how much would the genuine bumper sell for and how much are the 3rd party copys..? thanks for the quick replys anyways

Long story short, if you have standard wings you can only fit Bravo/a bumpers not Marea / HGT bumpers as there is a difference in length.

Ill have those pics tomoro as its dark at the mo. My bumper is hot swappable

You need to buy either a Abarth bumper to fit a HGT (as the genuine bumpers where not made for the HGT), leave it with the HGT bumper or fit non-HGT wings to the car so the bumper fits.

A body shop won't be able to extend the bumper unless you want to throw a lot of wonga at them, it would involve, cutting, plastic welding, filling etc. A lot of man hours.

Since you got the whole kit free, why don't you sell/give it to someone who previously wanted it in the post on fiatboo it as i'm sure they had a non HGT and would be extremely grateful. (I know I would be since mine cost me £200 new).

HGT with standard wings? The HGT has the same wings as the Marea. I conveniently have a Bravo with a Marea front

Marea bumper and Abarth bumper. Note they dont match up


Now putting the Abarth bumper on my car. The result speaks for itself


That bit is just enough to ruin it all. Its the same with Abarth side skirts, theyre a few cm too long

There are Abarth bumpers for a HGT but the prices scare off most...
