hi, 2000 1.2 16v bravo,

im not sure what the problem is, hoping some one will help me.
the car will start up 1st time no problems and will run fine. but it' pressurising, which are signs of head gasket, but ive heard theres a common fault on air locks, there is no signs of white gunge in oil cap, no water in oil, even took the plugs out no water on them, it runs spot on, but its pressurising and white smoke it coming out the back, and also taken the thermostat out, and its still pressurising,

many thanks, hope some one can help me.

White smoke is pretty common at this time of the year, cold engine, moisture etc. After a long drive 20-30mins is the car still blowing white smoke or has it gone?

What do you mean by pressurising, what test are you using? Do you mean the hissing sound when you open the fuel cap, if so then they all do it.

i test it by, leaving the radiator cap of. and turning it over than leaving it running, but when it gets to a certain level it stops, but it is quite far down from the top,

but what happend was, i was driving down the motorway, and the temp shot right up, so i came of the slip road, and was going round a roundabout, and it just cut out, i tryed starting it and after 2 mins it would cut out, but when i got it home, i started it up and it ran fine, but it is pressurising, also my heaters wernt working a few weeks before this happend, but when i got it home i was running it, unscrewed the bleed screws, and they started working fine, but its still pressurising. could it just be theres to much water in the radiator, also when i took the thermostat out, there was less white smoke coming out the back end.

thanks again.
