So the HGT is about ready to have a new belt, tensioners and waterpump. I have seen on fiat forum this can be done without completly removing the engine, just lowering it. Can i still get access to all the pullys and waterpump doing it that way?
Also ive been on hols for a 2 weeks and got back last fri, when i started the car it sounded a bit rough. I took it to me dad whos a mechanic he said it sounds like the bearings are wearing out to one of the many pullys, could be the a/c unit even. Without disconnecting the aux belt cant be sure.
Is this a common problem or any idea what it could be, how many other pullys are there? A/C, power stering, water pump?

If we dont decide to undertake the work, does anyone know of repertable garages in the midlands (derby) area, or may be willing to drive a bit.

Sorry for the long post!

Also, where can i find that cambelt change guide?

only problem i can foresee is getting the waterpump off, if you're unlucky you wont have enough clearance. i guess it depends how far the engine is moved over.
