Hi folks!
I'm new and unsurprisingly I have a few questions. I have just bought an N reg brava S 1.4 12v with no user's handbook. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help the clueless!

1. What is the little red warning light to the left of the battery light? This little red warning light sometimes comes on after a few minutes driving. Am I screwed? B)

2. When I try to fill it with petrol it keeps cutting off. I have to do it in dribbles. can I sort this or are all brava owners resigned to taking 5 minutes for £7 of petrol??

In relation to question 1 I think it might be the injector warning light. The car was sitting still for 2 months and was driven to the petrol station with nothing but vapour in the tank so all the crap has possibly gone through the injector. There is no power loss at all or kangaroo type action!

Cheers again guys!

i remember when i first got my bravo u gota find the right angle with the pump else the petrol just fills in the cap bit and drains slowely through the butterfly thing which stops people knickin ur petrol..

Best checking the autotrader for that and maybe sticking it as a seperate post in the for sale section.

You may get more for it if you sell as standard and sell your exhaust etc seperate.

What seats are they? Fancy selling them? Pm me please :D

see how it goes with the fresh tank or two of petrol but if no joy get some injector cleaner and take it from there.
Another thing it could be is a loose air intake hose of some sorts, something which I saw in the time I had a punto

The injector light comes on with any one of several problems with the fuel supply and management system. If it only comes on momentarily then you can usually ignore it.

You can try a fuel additive and check all the vacuum hoses, fuel lines, induction path and sensor connectors if it bothers you.

Tidy is right about the filler, you need to play about with the angle, I find it better pushed in as far as it will go.[}:)]

right...
Have put some injector cleaner in but haven't ran it all through yet. Light still comes on as yet. It seems a bit stubborn to bugger off!

How many miles should you get for a tenner?
