Just wanted to say I'm a new owner of a mk1 bravo 1.6 1999, 60000 miles, I got it for, in my opinion, a very good price at £400. It did have a misfire but I replaced the bad injector and now, 10 sore knuckles later, it runs sweet! It has been well looked after, with all the history and even the brochure and paperwork from when it was new, with 3 previous owners including the garage I bought it off. I am a little concerned with the fuel economy, especially in urban areas, however, I think a faulty thermostat is the main issue there. I’ll post some pictures once I’ve given it a clean!

Yup. All done now, thermostat changed and filthy air filter replaced, and it seems to be running at the right temperature, it was a bit high at first but settled to normal. Somehow jobs that should be pretty straight forward become a PITA, the metal clips around the hoses were awkward to remove but i got there eventually, and they’re all replaced with simple, common sense jubilee clips. It seems fiats were built with the belief that they would never need to be taken apart. But although I had to take a day off work to complete it, at least I can relax and have peace of mind that something else will soon come up! Managed to give it a quick clean before taking photos.

Thanks! No plans really other than maintenance and keeping it going as long as possible. It’s been well looked after, and kept original so I wouldn’t feel right changing anything drastically.. yet... ’m really pleased with how it drives. Maybe I’ll get some alloy wheels for when my bank balance looks a bit better and I can justify it. I think a strange part of me looks for things to improve/fix, but I’m going to just enjoy it for what it is for now!
