I've had issues with my glovebox door falling down as the retaining clip was sticking so once we'd released it the door closes perfectly again. Problem is the media player now says no device found.....

I've tried different USB sticks, and tried formatted and unformatted ones too...

Any one have any idea?
Thanks

Hi, have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few seconds, this usually works with most Blue&Me issues.

Thanks,
If i did that though, won't it reset everything? On my Old Punto i had to reprogramme the radio etc.. :s

Continuing from the above thread
I had the problem of 'device not found' on a '08 & '09 Fiat 500 (understand you have a GP).
I had 'trouble' with the USB keys I was using.
I use the 1gig for updating Blue & Me to 5.5 (previously 5.4)
and the 4gig (middle one) for holding MP3s
The faster and newer 8gig would work initially and then would come up with 'no device found'.

You need to do a FULL format in Windows of the USB key. Preferably use a 'smaller' less advanced key. The black one in the picture was bought in a 'builder providers !'

If you still can't get the USB to work - I would then resort either
1. disconnect the battery (as per an earlier post) or
2. update the B&Me to the latest 5.5 update.

For me in the 500 it didn't need to have the radio code entered after disconnecting the battery. You should have the number for this in you handbook (in case it's needed). If you've lost it you can get the number on the FF. Alternatively you could book your car into Fiat and pay for an hour's labour to have the B&me updated.

I have a funny hunch it's your USB key.

Thanks for replying

For MP3 playing i used a 4gb, the sticks i have tried since have been a 2gb and either a 250mb/500mb (Free samples from somewhere)
I did a full windows format but will try to download an update and see if it picks up (altho as it's not finding a device i'm not too sure it'll work :()

It looks like i'll be trying the battery option-incidetally i'm almost out of my 3yrs manufacturers guarentee.. Think i've been told that isnt covered (correct?)

Thanks again!

2 year Fiat warranty plus 1 year dealer warranty. Highly unlikely that this would be covered by 3rd year since you 'handsfree' is working i.e. the mobile. You could try puttng the 50 meg 5.5 update on one of the smaller USB keys and update the B&Me without having to dis-connect the battery for a re-set. This worked for me on the 5.4 update but not on the 5.5 update. It's worth a try and if you mess it up - the worst that can happen is to pay an hour's labour to have it 'put right'.

It erm.... WORKS!!

For some reason.. when i started my car today the media player kicked in.
I've not done anything to it, so i'm at a loss why...

Now the question is... do i unplug the one thats in (with 2 test songs that i left in weeks ago) or risk plugging the old one in and it happening again!! (Think i'll gamble!)

If the 'test' USB key in the car is working then it looks like your 'old one' is faulty. Maybe it's time to buy a new 'older model' USB key.
Or you're other option is 'Groundhog day'. :)

I'd tried 5 or 6 sticks and only left the one in thats in as i couldnt be bothered to take it out (or i forgot!)

Just strange how it's suddenly working.. will try the original usb tomorrow and see what happens.. if it doesn't work then i'll either transfer it all over to the one thats in (altho i think it's only a little one!) or buy a new 1!
