Hi there

My fiat punto R REG!!
just failed it s mot on the Exhaust downpipe braket snapped!!
Is this and easy job to do???
ANY ADVISE AND HELP WOULD BE GREAT

THANKS ALL

dunno if this was introduced but as far as im aware the downpipe has no bracket? mines on a N plate so they may have changed the spec but the downpipe on my car just joins manifold and cat no bracket!

What model is it?
leave it with me ill see if i can find out!

Right there is a bracket on the downpipe section its after the flexible part that allows the exhaust and engine to move.

Its a piece of metal welded to the pipe and is hung on a hanger like ur back box with a rubber hanger.

It looks as though if that has broken then u will either need someone who can weld a piece back on to it or i think u will have to get a replacement section woops[:(!]!
Best bet is to get an exhaust center to have a look.

hope it helps dude!
;)

we usually just clamp the broken braket back on with an exhaust clamp or large hose clip, realy the mot garage should of done that, it only takes a few mins.

Yes, dont get stitched up as already stated put a hose clip or a U clamp around it so it is secure, it wont win awards in engineering but it will pass the mot with it on.:D
