General mk2 punto exhaust bracket

Anybody know where i can get an exhaust front bracket.
Its the one beside the flexipipe.
Its for a punto mk2b

Are you talking about the one that holds the manifold to the gearbox?


You can get that part from Fiat. it used to be 5 pounds. Maybe 10 pounds now. Otherwise you can make it from an exhaust clamp. a piece of straight metal from a builders shop and long 10mm bolts with many nuts as spacers so you can create the angle you need.

Armed with the part number from ePER.. you still cannot locate one?

JTE, It is not in the picture. He wants the one that is the other side of the flexipipe. It is a rod on a bracket which fits in a block of rubber. As far as I can the exhaust pipe then has a welded rod which fits into the block of rubber.

Presumably he has the old bracket and get the rod welded onto it?

Yes that is correct.its the bracket with the rod attached that goes onto the rubber bushing.
Would anybody know the oem part for this so i might get one???

I'm pretty sure I know what bracket you're after. They are quite hard to come by new. I'd message as many sellers as possible breaking a Mk2b on eBay as they're almost guaranteed to have one.

If you decide to visit a dealer, the part number is 51764182

If you're feeling crafty, you can probably fabricate one or show a bodyshop/garage the attached photos and they can probably make one. It isn't too complex and a DIY one would fly through an MOT as long as it safely supports the exhaust and doesn't look like a bodged job. Just be sure to use good steel and/or get it sealed so it doesn't rust.

Edit: This is a different mount but may work temporarily (Or permanently ). Can't guarantee proper fitment but may be worth a shot

hi all,
JOB done,
i bought a simple exhaust clamp in halfords and got my mechanic to weld
one end onto the body of the car and then i attached the rubber bushing to the other end,which attaches onto the existing hanger on my exhaust.
total cost 1.90 for the clamp and a tenner to weld it.
All the scrap dealers who had a mk2b punto refused to take the bracket from under the car,guess it wasnt worth their while financialy.
