I snapped something inside the door when opening the door last week.

The car door can be opened now only from the outside, so when I need to get out, I have to wind the window down, reach out and open the door and open it using the outside handle!!!

I put it into my garage and they returned it to me two days later telling me that I needed a new internal mechanism, but that they were not able to obtain it - they were also unable to give me any hints about where to start looking.

Anyone help me with this?

I also need new hood cover/tonneau rubber seal, I saw one for £100 on eBay recently, surely you can get them cheaper somewhere? ....and anyone know where to get an exhaust for a 1997 'R' reg model?

You need to look in the door and find out what part has broken. Once you know you can get it from eBay.de or eBay.uk

If you look on eBay.uk at the mo, you will find someone selling bits from a blue Barchetta. I think he has some air bags and some seats for sale. Drop him an email and ask him for the part you want.

Thats what I would do.

As for the large hood rubber you need, sorry you will just have to spend that much. I replaced mine last year and it was £110 from my local Fiat.

Not fixing a problem like water getting inside the car could end up costing you a lot more in the long run.
