I have a new problem now. when driving slowly over a small dip or bump I get a clunk from the right side front wheel. everything seems tight and I hear nothing when I spin the wheel in neutral ball joint seems good. strut also seems tight

Mine does this occasionally, too, but it's never been picked up on an MOT test.

it appears that I was mistaken, according to my wife that is not uncommon ,moving on, it happened again today on an Italian Car Ride, in Milton ,and it felt like it was under the floor behind my seat. so now I surmise there is movement at the rear trailing arm bushes.so another parts shipment from the UK. yup(y)

Yes sounds as if that is it. I had the same for some time before realising where the noise was coming from. The inner one of the two bearing had rusted and broken. Whilst under the car (and whilst I still remembered how to do it) decided to do both swing arms.
Reasonably easy job and spares kits easily obtained.

Hi.
It would be interesting to have an update on these; could help others.(y)

Definitely useful mine clunks at low speed as well, at first I thought it was the spare wheel not fixed down properly, but that didn't solve it, seems to come from the rear on mine. It's a definite think. Mostly only on slow bumps. Cheers.

The rear T/A bushes on my car failed, bought the replacement kit. But actually when I tried to repair. The bolt that goes through the sub-frame and trailing arm had completely seized, the bearings had collapsed and no way could I extract the long bolt.thr only way I could remove was by cutting the bolt off with an angle grinder. Not an easy job.
Ended up buying a replacement trailing arm assembly. At the time not so expensive.
So my advice is get it sorted as soon as you can, usage will only make it harder to remove.
