Hi, I got my first brand new car in 2014 and in December 2015 I was at the head of traffic lights when an alarm sounded and a message flagged up that esc not available, hill hold not available, stop/start not available, check engine and when I tried to set off the best I could do was 8 miles an hour, which as you can imagine did not go down well with cars behind me! Took it to my dealer who replaced a sensor. All good until January 2016 when the same thing happened 3 times on the way to work one morning. Back to dealer to be told ANOTHER sensor had gone, was replaced and all good until this morning when alas again first in queue at traffic lights the alarm went off with the same message again and more angry drivers behind a limping Fiat 500! TWICE. Surely a message should not cause loss of power? I have lost confidence in the car now. My first car ever was an original K reg Fiat 500 and as many problems as I had with him, they were never this bad, he was old and it was to be expected! Any one else having these problems? Many thanks for any help x

Hi, I take it it's a 500 ? ( you're in the barchetta section)

the message is just making the driver ( you)
aware of a fault the cars ECU ( brain) has detected..:(

to save damage to the engine it'll limit power ( limp home mode);)

however 8 MPH is a little extreme:eek:

shame the car is still under warranty , or you could save the hassle and get it diagnosed and fixed quickly..

here's a link to a similar issue;)https://www.fiatforum.com/500/437492-embarrassing-stressful-advice-please.html

Yes it is. 500 and am sorry if I am in the wrong section, no idea how to navigate this website! Think the early 500 was easier to diagnose without all the electrics x
