Hi all,

Thinking about putting some alloys on my Barchetta as it has the standard steelies on at the moment. They're in great condition and have been refurbed by the looks of things, so not in a great rush.

Would like to stick to 15". Have been looking at Punto Sporting/HGT 5xtwin spoke alloys, some Alfa pepperpot and teledials, plus a load of bits on ebay. There's some fairly good deals to be had locally too - TSR 5 spokes with Yokahamas, new for £295.

Any links, pictures, advice or experiences gratefully received :)

Look for flat profile turbine style alloys, they suit the b best..............

Superturismo GT's look excellent!

Buy anything as long as they're OZes and not 5-spoked ( :yuck: ) :)

I've got these ones one mine (y)

I know, but I think the Barchetta is much too small to have multi-spokes. The originals mirror the style of the early Italian super cars (Muira etc.). Secondly, they'll show too much in the breaks. Who really wants to be looking at dirty callipers and tiny disc breaks? Thin spokes seem to make the body look to heavy in comparison, throwing the look of the entire car off. Just look at the pictures F4usT posted, the car's entire side profile looks wrong to me. Lastly, modern wheel designs on a less than modern car is one of the biggest automotive fashion mistakes you can make. Remember, the Barchetta's design is over 14 years old, and even then, it's design didn't try to echo modern styling fads.

Still, everyone has different idea as to how they want their car too look - but fancy wheels are not for my Barchetta.

Well, I'm a big fan of 15"s and high profile rubber. I even like the original steel wheels on the car :) In fact, if they had a higher quality finish, I'd probably be running them. The Barchetta is such a nice little car, you need to be 100% sure you like the wheels you're putting on her ;)

Well, I said I was in no big rush!

Three years later I've managed to pick up a set of Alfa 145 Teledials for £60. They might just be a bit of a Marmite thing.

...but I like Marmite.....

Hi Pete,

I reckon that you've made an inspired choice there ;) - a bit like the 8-holed standard alloys, but with a twist. I look forward to the pics. But, make sure that you keep the steelies, as your car is the nicest I've seen with them on.

Will
