Yes, it was a Scots guy called Paul Watson who fitted mine. I don't think I had as much trouble with dirt as Dave (was it Dave who found a bird in his?), but yes they do need cleaning more than I expected.

The other thing I found was that oldschool seems to know what he's talking about, from comments he's made here. I've got a brother who works in aerodynamics and among other companies he works with F1 teams. Some of the things oldschool has said echo comments my brother has made about how air acts in an intake. For example, that the air at the edges is actually still.

People do pick up some "urban myths", like thinking that you get a "ram air" effect. As far as I know, in reality, this doesn't make much difference until you're travelling at at least 80mph because the engine actually sucks quite hard.

If you do either of these options the next thing is to get a re-map.... :)
