But I am the king of the road, everybody but me is a sh*te driver, I never crash etcetc so why would I need HIDs?

Truth is, I can't afford them - and moreover it seems a hassle to install them

Let me just clear this up for you........

You can afford them as the are only £45 and they are easy to fit, in fact they would be even easier to fit without a front bumper so get the Polish geezers to do it!! (y)

I'll have to think about it... money's really my biggest issue; I'm looking to spend £3000-ish to get the B back on the road. £45 isn't much compared to that, but it's still money I haven't got. I'll be pondering it, but most likely I'll pass - even if it would make sense to have it installed now what with the front bumper coming off and the head lights coming out. Hm...:tempt:

 Do it - think of it this way, you save £45 now and spend another £3k in a months time when you hit something in a dark lane................. and, its only money!!

Will I still be having my high beam with it? If yes, I'll have to order one just to shut you up... :p

You really really don't want to be one of those...

Obersturmbannfhrer was a paramilitary Nazi Party rank used by both the SA and the SS. It was created in May 1933 to fill the need for an additional field grade officer rank above Sturmbannfhrer as the SA expanded. It became an SS rank at the same time. Translated as Senior Storm Unit Leader, Obersturmbannfhrer was junior to Standartenfhrer and was the equivalent to Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel) in the German Army.
Amongst the more notorious holders of the rank of Obersturmbannfhrer were Rudolf Hss and Adolf Eichmann. Hss was commandant of the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp, whilst Eichmann is generally regarded as a key architect of the Nazi's Endlsung policy in which Auschwitz came to play so major a role.

So there, a simple 'Yes Master..' will do just fine.

That'd be too easy

Still waiting for the HID seller to quote me shipping for 2 units

If it's any excuse I'm only getting 1 for the B... The other's for a Swift. MOT shouldn't be a problem as I've found a Polish (teeming with them in Norway :)) bloke who can pass it.

I think someone dropped a very stinky fart in Poland as an awful lot of Polish have left Poland and chosen the UK as home.............

On the subject of headlights, mine had the lacquer peeling off the top of them around the edges and then also in one terrible patch right on the top. Looked awful. So I followed these instructions based on what some of the guys in the other (non-Barchetta) subforums did:

http://www.myfto.co.uk/peeling.htm

and now it looks even worse!! I've made the headlights cloudy all over

Maybe I didn't put enough elbowgrease into the rubbing compound, or maybe I need to just keep T-cutting it to take the cloudy layer off.

To be honest I'm now tempted to just buy some new ones from Fiat, or at least find some from a scrappy which are in decent nick.
