I'm (still ) looking to buy roll bars, but so far I've not managed to come up with a definite answer as to whether my windstop will go with any roll bars - so first is a pic of my wind stop (is it original Fiat, or some cheap eBay stuff?) - the second's a pic of the bars I'd like. To put it simple: Is it possible to fit both without using a hammer :slayer: ?

Stick it on with a huge bit of Blu-Tak - if it looks pants peel it off - if it looks OK use the hammer..............?

Was that of any help :D

Your windstop doesn't look original and those bars need to be screwed into the same holes that your windstop is in so unless you can take it off and put it back on top I don't think it will work. There was a different style windstop and bars on UK ebay site that apparently work together.

Ups, the above one was obviously meant for LittleRedB ;)

Thanks for clarifying, patches :) If they use the same holes I don't see why it shouldn't work, provided the screws are long enough on I reckon they should be able to hold both. (Somebdoy will probably give me a good reason why it won't work... ).

Professor B has given his green lights :woot:

Now I just need to find a cheap one (who needs TUEV anyway? :p) on eBay without logos.

(Argh - why doesn't this board take letters with umlaut :bang:)

cant get mine to fit with the roll over bar in place (n)

Doc, I suspect that it's this kit that has been used on the blue B...so it is possible to do it without alterations, only - I suspect - not with the windstop I have :( I should, though, consider getting an acrylic one, but it's easliy £100 extra with the customs, p&p, and the wind stop itself :bang:

I have noticed that some forum members have had their own acrylic ones made - so there should be some "blueprints" lying about. So, anybody want to share? :)

Roll bars are cool RedB

HI,
If I was you I would take your windstop and remove it from the car. Put the windstop infront of the chrome bar and mark on the chrome bar base the 3 points the screw holes line up with. Drill the chrome base and fit it to the car. Once its in place fit the windstop infront of the bars and screw the lot down using the 3 screws that you had holding the windstop down with in the first place, that you can see in your first pic. You could need longer screws.

Sometimes you need to mod things a little to get them to work.

Thats just what I would do, other people might do something else.

Call me lazy, but I was hoping that I wouldn't have to mod anything to make them fit.. It might just work, though (y).

But...I guess I'll just mull over it for a few more months, and then decide against it....

I love roll bars, super - only not yours as you've got the ones with the logos on :D
