General Cruise control

General Cruise control

I've installed new original switch. Im interested to put original Fiat cruse/limiter, so I try to activate this function in body computer.

Even with enabled on MES looks like you have to write to Proxi also. I don't know the details of this unfortunately.

You can 100% activate it on the body computer or the engine computer or both, whichever one it is that works it. Surely though there must be more to it than fitting a new clockspring and stalks and then activating it in MES?
Thankfully you don't have to take off the steering wheel as the cruise stalk can be screwed in by a screw on each side of the existing column switch gear. ?

Looking at the eLearn screenshot it looks like a few things (assuming it's all exact etc )

I must check the modules I have. (screenshot of body computer is from eBay so must check my own to see what I have )

Wonder is a clutch switch needed or not..

Looks like items D and E if present are under the BCM covers.

What is this symbol ? Is it alternator ? It corresponds to the wiring to E and the relay on the BCM as E, clutch switch ?...

Poor picture..

But looks more like a Starter Motor ( and a key)

Apologies for the resolution it's a blow up of the earlier elearn diagram. It does like like an alternator and key, probably a stop/start relay.... Wonder did crusie control 500s also have stop/start....

All 500's from @2013 have S:S to get cheap emissions based road charges ;)

I tried to get Cruise on my diesels.. no support.. often there were 2 levels of ECU high spec supported cruise

Not in 500/ panda though :(

I'm spoilt as I have crusie on the 124, have to admit the pedal position is more challenging on the 595 and my leg gets tired on the accelerator.

The 595 has no stop/start, would be interesting to know if the relay is present in the BCM, not sure if the clutch has a switch either on the 595.

Had a look back at my MES BCM overview.

Looks like crusie control module us present but not enabled.

Also tried to put my thoughts on the wiring diagram

For info if it helps, used the CANM8 cruise on my 2013.
It picks up everything for brake, clutch and speed from the databus so no additional switches needed and taps in to the throttle pedal for control.

Good info thanks..

Which engine and trim is this ?

There may be some lower spec variants without the necessary kit as standard.

( as I have found with my diesel cars..)

1.2 lounge although it has the lower spec loom without do light provision.
I’d say if it had stop start it’ll have a clutch switch, Abarth was the only other queried option when I bought it, so at least no stop start would be my guess.
