Hi, We have just bought my daughter a 2009 500. She has the Blue & me Adaptor, she has an iPhone 6 and has updated the software in the car to the 5.6 version. She has an Apple lead as well. The phone is now charging and it is linked via Bluetooth to Blue & me.

However she is still unable to play her Spotify music through from the phone to the car.

is there something we are missing in the process to get this to work fully including using the steering wheel controls.

Thanks in advance

My understanding is that the adapter will allow you to play music from your iPhone through the speakers, but you will have to use the iPhone's controls to manage what is being played; it's not possible to use the steering wheel controls to select music on an iPhone using the adapter.

Obviously not something you can do whilst driving.

If you want to be able to select music whilst driving using the steering wheel controls, you'll need to put the music onto a windows-formatted memory stick in .mp3 format. Selecting music whilst driving using the iPhone's controls will just get you six points on your licence.

Thanks for this. I'd gladly accept it only being able to work via phone controls. Unfortunately the big issue is we cannot pull the music through to begin with.

Is there a process to follow to allow her to use Spotify through the speakers. She doesn't have an AUX socket either.

Hi Jason, I have an iPhone 7 and am having the same issues. If it helps for my old car before I bought my Fiat I bought a “hands free car kit FM transmitter” from eBay. It was only a couple of pounds. You plug it into the cigarette lighter and tune it in through the radio, it must be on a number that has no actual radio station, this is how I play my Spotify in my fiat and it allows you to receive calls also. Cause the music etc is through the radio it uses the speakers in the car and not your phone. ??
