:Offtopic:One thing I'll never understand about Alfa's front styling is the seeming impossibility of fitting a numberplate without it looking like an afterthought. Completely spoils the appearance of the car for me.

So i guess the solution is no numberplate at the front! = )

I used to think that but after 'looking' at the OHs Mito since her ownership I don't notice the reg plate anymore. It's amazing how a little bit of 'trick' photography can play it down given the real world pics of the car. Could I put on Abarth stripes & colour coding (red mirrors) so that it looks like a A500.:)

Melanabb - Awaiting feedback from a guy who has fitted a set of 16s winters on his Mito QV. Standard offset on the Mito is E39. It will come down to the 'dish shape' of alloy. Get the impression that a steelie wouldn't fit without the use of spacers. Pity that the GPA has the Vauxhall gene with its 4x100 PCD because it would appear that the Lusso 16 alloy could have fitted.

Got the feedback from that guy on the Alfa forum. On the Mito QV it appears that they 'lost' the Brembos so the 155TB is the only one that has them.
Despite losing a 'tooth' on double checking on the AF  - the calipers on your GPA the Brembos on your car are exactly the same on the Mito 155TB.(y)
The 'Lusso' wheel in the picture should fit on the GPA. Using wobble bolts so that the 4x98PCD wheels will fit on a 4x100PCD should work...

http://www.alloy-wheels-store.com/wobbly-bolts.html
A very popular application of wobbly bolts is fitting 4x100 wheels to a Fiat which has mainly 4x98 bolt pattern. To have a proper fitment we all know that the bolt patterns have to match but for slight differences like 2-2.5 mm we are able to fit 4x100 wheels to 4x98 hub or vice versa.
Let's say; you have a Vauxhall Corsa (4x100 fitment) and you fall in love with a set of black Fiat alloy wheels. This can be managable! Wobbly bolts can save the day for you and you will get what you want. But please note that bolt pattern is not the only factor you should be looking at when you are buying new alloys.

Hopefully someone will tell me if I'm wrong on this - I would hate for you to buy the wrong wheels. I would suggest posting a thread on the Alfa forum and ask if someone will oblige trying a 'Lusso' wheel on your GPA. (you will need some wobble bolts)
At least when the winter comes back in you'll know what to buy. These wheels are apparently easy to pick up off Fiat / Alfa because quite a few Mito owners upgrade to the Veloce wheels.
In the 16s the Pirelli Sottozeros tyres seem to be the ones to go for and they're resonably priced.
In the 'spoked' wheel - this is off a Spyder which had bigger calipers and you can see how 'tight' they are to the wheel. The 'Lusso' look comfortable in comparison.
Also since you will have to inform the insurance guys on the fitting of these at least they will be coming from a 'Fiat' garage and the use of wobbly bolts shouldn't cause the same headaches as using a set of spacers.
