Pound for Pony, the best way to get more bhp these days is a uprated panel filter and a remap, you could change the exhaust aswell but alot of people are not fans of the extra noise of a sports exhaust where as the panel filter will add minamual noise and the remap will make the most of whats already there.

Just make sure you find the right person/company to remap your car

Thank you for your reply's.

its not we race down lanes, its just its a one way lane where we live, as its the only raod that leads to our road of houses.
like i said, im by far a boy racer, i just find it annoying that were getting to approx 3,000 rpm and its then flat, and just revs.

il look into re-mapping, i hope you dont all think bad of me, i am just relaying what i was told, when we bought the car, maybe im wording it wrong, and if i am sorry, but like i said, all i want is a little more "go"...lol

My reccomendation would be to wait till the car is actually run in. Also, it sounds like you're not revving the car enough. The 1.4 has its power high up in the rev range so to get the most out of it you need to rev it.

standard 1.4 starts to come on power at 3250 rpm

with BMC filter it is 3000 rpm

and with Supersprint system it now pulls from 2500 rpm

all on standard map

car is not run in until 8000 miles in my experience
Add a turbo and a supercharger Delta S4 style and it'll be pulling from 20 rpm! :worship::yum:

There are only just over 1000 Abarth 500's sold in the UK in a year

Common as muck then!

As for the OP if you want the significant more power you claim you want an extra 50% power!, you'd probably need to look for an abarth in a scrapyard for the engine&turbo and gearbox, though some Grande Puntos use the same engine and probably gearbox, or maybe even Bravos?

the cheapest option would be get an Abarth, then make it look like a standard 500. which is ridiculous tbh.

well i went to the fiat garage today, and left my car there, as i feel there is a problem, the clock is showing 7681 miles, so now far from the 8,000 mentioned earlier.

as the "flat spot" is getting worse, and its an engine problem, not me, so i have come to learn.
so maybe it will actually be better when i get it back.
they are also fixing the following, as i migtn as well get these small things sorted while they have it..

indicator turns itself off, instantly from turning it on.
no power ( above )
idle low, so when you lift the clutch slowing it stalls, and does not pull the car, so you have to rev it to get it to bite.
wipers are set to one speed, they cant be changed...lol
Alloy wheels have corrosion on them, thats clear stuff thats on them is peeling of big time.
Also the steering comes VERY lose, some corners are nice, and tight, and you can feel the response, then it cuts out, and comes very lose, and like its not attached ot the wheels, it changes how it feels, can be scary sometimes at roundabouts.....lol
also, we think the yellow has faded alot, and its looking "washed out"

when we parked our 500 next to another yellow 500 it looked alot ligter, as it also did against the yellow one they had at the garage so they are going to look at that also.

I doubt the paint has faded. Just needs a good clean and a good coat of wax.
