FIAT won't knock £2.5k off any Brand New car - I'd like to see someone try!!

All brand new and un-registered. Some with discounts of over £3k.

Getting a dealer to knock money off a 500? Hard. Getting them to knock money, hell even £2.5k off many other Fiat cars? Pretty easy I'd imagine.

If you're in the market for a Bravo you could even get yourself more than £4k knocked off the list price. It's an 'anything-but-500-and-possibly-the-GP-Abarth buyers market' at the moment.

lol FIAT discounting nearly £2.5k on a BRAND NEW car?? Have you bought a New car from FIAT recently? Trust me, you'd be lucky to get £2.00 knocked off ;)

Have you tried to buy a car lately? Fiat don't even sell cars anymore. You'd be lucky to get a wheel from them.

This is true because I said it even though others will disagree with me and all the evidence points to Fiat still selling cars. LOL.

Seriously many people have bought cars from Perrys and Fiatsupasaver on this forum and the prices are real. There are 4 people now who have come out and stated that you can get a 100hp for around 8 grand and still you seem to want to ignore it. You'd be hard pressed to go out these days and buy a car (aside from something like an Abarth of course where there is a shortage of them) and not be able to get a discount out of the salesman.

P.S don't stop, please keep digging :D

This has got way out of hand, Sikersh you are wrong as Fiat have always heavily discounted. The Pandas can be had with massive discounts, even when just a few months after the launch huge amounts could be had off them. The 500 is the only car they wont discount. Perrys is a proper franchise and even my local dealer has a sale on Pandas and say they wont be beaten on a quote, so look at Perrys and then tell them to match it:)

The 100HP can easily be bought new and in a choice of colours for a tad over 7k, period.

Broadspeed are actually offering anything from 500-600 pounds off 500's on their site. Take their £300 fee into account and it's a 200-300 pound discount. I'm sure if you really pushed a dealer they'd probably give you a bit off. Maybe it's just me but there seem to be a lot less people posting "look at my new 500!" threads so I'm wondering if the bottom is starting to fall out of 500 sales and if there are bigger discounts to be had in the near future. Perrys have a 1.4 Lounge listed new @ 9695 but I do wonder if that's a typo/mistake.

500s are still selling well, its just ordinary folk buying them now who dont go onto forums:)
Article in Evening Standard last week said the 500 is the coolest car to own in London, they had a list of celebs that own them... so even a year on its still doing fine:)

I wonder how many people will go look at the new KA, realise its a rip off and go buy a 500?

Well it's a different car. Like I said there are Ford people who will gobble this up :) I wouldn't be surprised if Ford start offering big discounts on the Ka to make it appear attractive. What would most people buy? Two cars which are both the same price but one is discounted more ;)

I think though that the 500 sales are starting to slow down a bit now because all of the fuss at launch is now a distant memory.

yes, the broadspeed discount is interesting - when i did my test drive in the a500 i mentioned about the prices on the regular 500 available and they instantly offered to match the broadspeed quote..so thats a £600 discount without any fees :)

its always the way, little bit of patience and the prices come down. and in the current climate especially i think you would have to be a bit of a fool to offer and pay full price.

hard to believe now of course, but give it 6-9 months or so and even the precious a500's will be available with similar amounts off.

the a500 is great, but to pay list price now and over £15k if you put a fair amount of options on is not the smartest idea.

you can save around £2k+ on most hot hatches now, ones with a lot more power, that would end up costing less than the abarth. whether or not they're ultimately better or the car you want is irrelevant, the fact is you're paying a heck of a premium right now to be an early adopter.

if you really want to pay this sort of cash to have a car that will have peds gawping at you as you go down the road because they don't know what it is at the moment then great :)

as said before on here, im kind of envious of those that have one (who wouldnt be!) but at the same time im not at all when i think about it a little bit more!

I think everyone agrees with you there. But as long as you are happy with the inflated price then that's ok. I am, this always happens with newly launched cars, I remember left hand drive 500 available at stupid prices when the 500 wasn't yet available.

very true, im certainly not one to tell people how to spend their own money!

but these things are worth mentioning for people who may be stretching their budgets or arent aware of the inevitable discounting to come. i remember when the 500 was launched, all the 'there'll never be discounts on this because of the supply/demand balance' etc and here we are.

same with the mini, a car there would supposedly never be discounts on - now you can save a grand or more on a new one easily with just a few phone calls and some quotes.

these are good times to be buying a new car if you're forearmed with the info :)

£500 easily off a 500 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4's you can get around £1000 off.

I don't know what it is with people on here, but some people just like to cause arguments for arguments sake!! All I said on the other page is that over a year ago whilst looking for a New car I test drove a New 100HP which was £12.5k and I ended up buying my 500 for £13,000 - simple as that - I wasn't wanting to start arguments with people about prices etc.

All this was over 14 months ago when the 500 had just come out. If you don't believe me or want to argue more then PM me.

As above, if you read my first post (page 8, 3 down) I didn't have ANY intention of starting an argument or it getting out of hand. I was just stating what happened, but as per usual on the here, you get certain people trying to start up a heated discussion for no apparent reason

In connection with the thread itself...the Abarth 500 is an amazing drive and I cannot wait until mine turns up in a couple of months time :)
