yeah got them mate cheers(y) found the delta manual alot more easier to understand and its got all the torque settings which is a great help. yeah i feel alot more confident that i will manage to get this engine up and running now.

Yes i know, it just popped in my mind the day before that i contacted gozolli some years ago, inquiring for 127 sport pistons. Eventually i found a set in my own country, so discarted his offer back then,(they were 400 a set then) and most prices were still in lires back then. I know his pistons are widley valuad as very very well so it's worth a shot.
 
I fitted another battery this morning. It was freezing last night when i went home from work, the car would not start, a lot of relais clicking and that was it. After i jumpstarted it, drove home (30Km's), and this morning the battery flat again. I took the one out of Sedici no2 :). It's (y) now, when it's flat tonight i either have a power leakage somewhere or the alternator or power regulator has died on me. :cry:
 
Full service, all parts bought from the Fiat Platts garage in Stoke-on-Trent for a very reasonable price - the oil was free!
New rear wiper motor
Wiper arms sanded and painted
New indicator fitted
and a new bonnet bought... to be continued ;)
 
In case someone knows of a stock of mahle pistons, look for partnumber 0092101, these are the discontinued 84,40 pistons for the 1991-1993 tipo 16V. They combine with Goetze rings 08215300-10. Pistons used to be priced at 65,10euro a piece and rings 17.80euro a piston......The search continues......
 
yesterday i got her filthy from my trip to the farm. ice was on the road, but i took the back roads as normal only realising i probably shouldn't on the way. which meant with use of the handbrake the back was sliding out, the cars handling is extremely predictable being primarily set up for understeer. and giving it a good amount of respect by keeping speed low, and smooth controls the rest of the time meant i arrived there in one piece, yet a smile on my face:D

That's what I love about the car - the handling is so predictable. I could throw it around on the trackday with reckless abandon knowing exactly what she would do to me if I was too rough with her.

Only once did the rear end make a bid for freedom, when I trailed on the brake into a corner just a little bit longer than I should have.
 
topped the oil up again today, still a litre every 5000Km's The car is extremely dirty due to the salt on the wet streets, no time to clean it though... Some slight problems need adressing, sometimes after full throttle acceleration, running a constant velocity there is some noise under the bonnet, sounds like a faulty soon to die cvt joint. Will have a look at it next weeks friday when it's on the lift for new tires and alignment session. Also the aftermarket disabeler alarm needs to be ripped out because it sometimes turns itself on and i can't start the car until i have taken battery leads of whith key turned to ignition and put back on. Probably some dodgy italian relais in there....Pfff

Almost forgot, the boot won't lock with central lock, will have a look at that too, and a few weeks ago i tried the cigarette lighter wich caused a burned trough fuse of 20Amp's disabeling the rear lights of the car, tried a new fuse which fried instantly, pulled the cable off from the lighter, new fuse and pronto everything works again(except the lighter, which is quite anoying when u use your pda as a tomtom)....

i've cleaned one of the pistons up and as you can see at the bottom there is 2 small dints where it hit the valves, but the piston should be still sound to use.

Please measure ring gap's to make sure they haven't been depressed so the rings get stuck, check diameter so see if the pistons ain't a little oval at the point of impact. If all is good, i see no problem.
