where that water had got in to the pistons it has left the piston sleeve rough, i've had a wire brush thing on a drill and had a go trying to move the rust but its not shifting, i've thought about using enry cloth but that might course problems with compression if i take to much off:( its only the 2 middle ones that are like this, any ideas? and please dont say new sleeves:cry:

The pictures don't come through, but i think a bit of scotchbrite should do the trick, oil it up and scot lightly, no way you can brush of the wall. All what is left will be ground away in minutes after first start.

Because they're hosted from your email they will only show up to you when you're logged into your email - we never will see them images... until you hosted them here! You 'dinged' all 4 pistons with both valves?

Milkbottle hasn't done much, bit busy to give her the wash she needs before she can be put away for a couple of months.

yeah all 4 are dinted but i never did it, bought car as none runner and just ripped that engine staight out without trying to start it. i bet the guy who owned it before me tried bumping it. valves look ok but not going to risk it just going to change them. im just hoping its going to run when i put it all back together.

had the coolant system pressure tested to see if we can find the leaks and nothing. car is still leaking nothing major but just annoying. Plan to give her a good clean and polish tomo then end of the week getting the actuator on the turbo set up correctly so she will have over 200bhp:D:slayer:

car has been sat for a week or so up till yesterday when i went out in the morning, the windows were soaking wet and the car smelt damp, thought nothing much of it, but today went in it and noticed a fair amount of mould on the headlining:yuck::( by the rear drivers side grab handle. Think it's the sunroof drain blocked up, or even split. wiped it off for now.

Think i'm going to have to take the headlining out, has anyone done this, can you actually see the drainage pipes when it's done? be pointless otherwise lol.

for now i'm going to see if i can tell if the drain is blocked if possible and get plenty of heat in the car to dry it out somewhat.

Try an airline to blow out the sunroof drains. Don't poke anything down them or the rubber will split.

I have had a lot of condensatiuon in my car with no obvious leaks - I just its the current weather. Check the inside of the sunroof though - an awfull lot of condensation can sit on the inside of the car .

bought a dehumidifier thing, which uses gel sort of stuff to absorb water, hopefully it'll do for now, blew into one of the front drain holes on the affected side with a straw which seems to of worked somewhat, water seems to drain down it, but how would you get to the rear ones which is probably where the problem lies?

Fixed splitter..............see above, and also took my own car out for the first time in 2 weeks after repairing the front screen wash. Usual story - frozen pipework had forced the joint apart under the windscreen surround.
