The Panda in question is a H reg 999 FIRE 4X4.

BASICLY I WISH TO KNOW SOME INFORMATION FROM SOMEONE WITH ONE!

HOW MUCH QUICKER IS IT?
IS IT WORTH IT?
WHICH ONE TO GET?

But i really want to know what you do with that pipe (the circulating crankcase emission control pipe and that one from the carb)
What do you do with them?
Do you just cap it off!</font id="Verdana">

I wouldn't cap it:
the "blow by" gasses get out that way.
That is to say the combustion leakage past the piston rings into the crank case escape through that pipe.

In the normal course of things this gas is eaten by the engine to reduce the overall emissions from the car.

You may already know that the 4x4 is already tuned up a bit to cope with the extra drag of all the cogs in the 4x4 bits: ISTR 50 BHP instead of 45. So I don't know how much extra you will easily get.

If you block it, the gas will find a way out: gaskets all over the place ( but not the head gasket) and puddles of oil.

In the pre emission control days that pipe would have an oil trap in the end, and ventilate into the atmosphere.... not that you would ever consider doing such an environmentally unfriendly thing these daysB)

Regarding more poke, I hold the view that you'll never keep up with a modern quick car on the open road, almost regardless of what you spend on it.
However, if your Panda is running properly, and you have reasonable reactions, you can embarrass most things at the lights - up to 20 or 30 mph - without spending anything on it.

You pay your money and take your choice...

You can get little filters for that crankcase outlet. But a lot of people who put them induction kits on report that they get carb ice because you loose the warm air intake, carb ice effects the cold north the most.

Thanks for the replys I didn't think about the gases escaping! ooops!
I did know about the extra 5 brake (this is one reason why I like the 4X4 better; plus the fact it's a 4X4 )

I'd like to know more about them little filters! If anyone has anymore information?

I know also about the carb ice which is a problem I will have to consider before getting one.

My son got one of them little filters from a scrappy, they look like a tiny k&n, i think you can get them off ebay. They have them in boyracer magazines.

i'd go with the top one. I have a small K&N one on my breather pipe.. but it was there when i got the car so cant help with where it came from

you could also buy a silencer for an ecotek, think pipecross make them. should fit as well

But still unsure what to do with the pipe from the carb the one that goes in the shoulder of the crankcase emission pipe / airbox

If you buy a K&N 57i Induction kit then the breather pipe goes back into the filter housing, with a bit of modification. I have one on mine it gives it around 2-3 bhp.
The part number for the K&N is = 57-0146 £54.99 from Motormania
They will tell you it is for a cinquento 1.1 sporting.
It does fit, promise.

will these lovely little k&n bolt-on filters fit with out any modfication?? is this the same thing as an induction kit?? if i just got a good filter for my air box will that do the same thing??

It will do the same thing you've just got to make sure you get the right filter for your carb/injection system. I personally don't like em.
The difference is the induction kits "inducts" cooler air into the carb. The problem with this is it can make the carb freeze (carb-ice).
The cooler the air in and hotter the air out the quicker you go. I theory anyway!!!

If you don't like to fit an induction kit or atleast a cotton air filter I advice you to buy a 1.108 or 1.242 airbox to replace you standard one...they're a bit larger so more air is allowed to pass through

i havbe been thinking about this
would it be possable to get the air intake pipe going into he air box and wack a inducton kit on that and just take the air filter out therefor keeping the the circulating crankcase emission control pipe and that one from the carb all conected???
not sure sounds like a bit of a long shot but wot u recon??

I suppose it would work but not as FX've as a full induction kit.
The hole for the air intake on the filter is small.
A full induction kit would be the best option, it would look better too!

Just make sure you find an effective way to plug the hot air intake valve or you'll be using unfiltered air everytime your engine feels a bit on the cold side.

Is there a real performance difference between a "performance" air filter in the standard box and an induction kit on a Panda? I'm asking this because I've noticed that the airbox is similar on 770, 1000 and 1100 engines, so I would imagine it wouldn't be that restrictive on the smaller units, especially if you fit a perf filter.

What i did on my panda 750 is to cut the bumper where the air intake would be so that now the bumbper has a 1 1/2 inch hole in it with a bit of ducting to take the air strainght into the airbox via the orignal air tube. It works fine i have had it card ice once but it was foggy and -5 outside! that was on the motorway after about 30mins constant at 70mph. I also run a jetex (?) air filter just becuase you can wash it so you don`t have to shell out for a new one every 6000 miles. It makes it a bit faster and helps at speed it will now quite happly do 85 ish after that i get scared and back off! (done 140 mph on a bike gets scared at 85 welcome to the world of the panda!)

I've just put one on today and deciding whether to keep it or not.
The car definately has a bit more torque, but the noise is deafening!

Are the kits really supposed to be so loud? It sounds like a 10" sub on full power, at around 4000rpm.

I can feel ppl looking!
