Hi guys,

Posting in here as I believe the 500 (& Panda) have the same clutch pedal setup as my Chrysler Ypsilon and wanted to share my experience...

Recently bought the Ypsilon and noticed it had an annoying habit of the clutch pedal occasionally "popping up" and resting higher than the brake pedal. Once or twice this caused me to get my foot stuck as it happened just as I was about to change gear. I thought the master or slave cylinder might be worn but there was no sign of leaks.
Eventually I bit the bullet and changed both clutch cylinders - and this is when I found out the cause of the problem...

Inside the master cylinder is a ball and socket joint where the pin from the clutch pedal joins the plunger inside the cylinder. This socket is made of plastic and had broken, so when my clutch pedal went up, sometimes it would pull this pin out of its socket! Furthermore, it seems to have caused the clutch position sensor (pink switch) to break.

Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone else has a similar issue :)
