Panda Yet another 100HP

Introduction

He's home. (y)

Only just got back, so this is a rush. The lightest clutch and steering wheel in the world. I haven't tried sport yet.

It is a little bouncy, but not that hard... However, those bloody brick speedbumps that are outside my house are a nightmare. I have to drive over them at 1MPH.

The sub doesn't do anything until the EQ is in 'Rock' then it gets a bit loud. :D

Tiny mirrors are very very tiny.

I'm working tomorrow afternoon, he must be washed and polished before I show him off. :p
Fiesta ST is likely to be my next car.. I'm in trouble.

Start saving for the Civic Type-R now............that'll ace everything when it comes out next year. It'll not be cheaper than the Fiesta though.

At an expected price of circa £30k and aimed squarely at the Golf R and Focus RS, M135i etc I'd bloody hope it's better than a Fiesta ST, it's from two hot hatch classes above and it'll cost nearly twice as much. I'd also imagine that it'll be considerably harder to live with on a day to day basis than the Fez.

It's pretty much the same size as a Fiesta - few inches in it.

But yes, I grant you it's twice the price and fighting with the other (larger) overpriced shopping trolleys you mention.

No matter what you have, someone else will always have something quicker/better. And whatever you buy new will depreciate. Keep what you have and put your money in property. It'll never let you down.

By two classes above, I meant performance wise, as opposed to size wise. Performance wise there's the Golf GTI and Focus ST class just above the Fez and then the Golf R and Focus RS class above the GTI and the Focus ST.

As for price, yeah, if you buy new, you're going to pay heavily for the privilege of doing so. That said, it's probably worth it more on hot hatches, so you know how it's been treated, than it is for a normal car which is unlikely to have been thrashed.

Like you say though, someone will always have something faster and/or more expensive than you. Buy what you feel is the best fit for you and enjoy it :).

My manual says that if the immobilliser light stays on while the engine runs, the system is testing itself.
BTDT;)

Your quotation has finally proven to be true....

Look for the ridiculous in everything and you will find it.
My manual says that if the immobilliser light stays on while the engine runs, the system is testing itself.

Doesn't that just come across as a slightly ridiculous software programming? Well, to the majority of us that only see the car manual twice - once on purchase and once when we sell?

I see what you mean;)
TBH I had an immobiliserproblem in my Stilo (solved by a "new" ECU) and when the light in my Panda remained lit while driving I had to look it up in the manual.
But in general I tend to read before I plug a new appliance in.

And ridiculous things are indeed everywhere. You just have to look at things in the right angle. Or take a few steps back.
I actually found the quote on an album by the Cure. ... Yes I am that old:rolleyes:

I went to visit panda panda yesterday, after leaving he's I went to Ripon, we both assumed it would take me on the A59. I didn't check my sat nav, but it took me on a B-road all the way.

I had the road to myself and the Panda had a very good time. :D

The way home, it took me on the boring M62. I think I need the wheels balancing as I have wheel wobble at a certain speed...

Oh dear........this could be the dread flat-spotting on your chewing gum alloys that 3 of mine enjoyed.........

I seem to have been very lucky with mine, i slammed them in to potholes several times during the winter and they are still round...... probably worth seeing if they need balancing before you start looking for replacement wheels because they are expensive.

Only just seen this thread... my 100HP starts YG08 D too, hmm!

My Cinquecento was R243 CHL... I double-took when I saw a Punto with R241 CHL :p

There's an option in the head unit's menu to silence the Italian lady who lives in the Bluetooth module ;)

Dunno if changing that will stop the aux in working as well, though.

Prices seem to have dropped a bit, theres an identical one on Auto Trader thats newer and 10k less miles...

The romance is over isn't it?

Get a 4x4. We have the now ridiculous situation of dealers attempting to sell 2010 Mk3 4x4s for MORE money than 2012/2013 Mk 4x4s with less mileage.

Saw a grey one at the top of Greenwood on Friday, it might have been adz83 it was filthy.

Yesterday I saw a 60 plate grey down Newland Ave, I got to work and someone who I work with, saw an old bloke driving one down Holderness road.

They're everywhere.
