Panda Yet another 100HP

Introduction

He's home. (y)

Only just got back, so this is a rush. The lightest clutch and steering wheel in the world. I haven't tried sport yet.

It is a little bouncy, but not that hard... However, those bloody brick speedbumps that are outside my house are a nightmare. I have to drive over them at 1MPH.

The sub doesn't do anything until the EQ is in 'Rock' then it gets a bit loud. :D

Tiny mirrors are very very tiny.

I'm working tomorrow afternoon, he must be washed and polished before I show him off. :p
The sport mode switches off by itself on mine every so often so i wouldn't worry about it too much and mine also has an annoying rattle from the back that its had since i bought it, the tools in the spare wheel are the usual culprit........ i've noticed you also think of your Panda as a human being.....this usually happens too.....

I had to go to Tescos, imagine my delight to see 2 cars parked next to each other all by themselves. It would be rude to not join in.

People were loitering, the second pic was all I could do. :(

Also left work on Wednesday, that bloody white Cross again. I also saw my first 100hp since I've had mine.

If everyone had a Panda we could all easily get in and out of our cars in car parks without bother. They still make parking spaces like everyone's driving a Morris 8.

My garage is so small pretty much only something Panda sized will fit in it, unless you don't want to get out of the car. The really stupid thing is, the house is only just over 10 years old.

Fuel-up Added
36.3 UK MPG

I've seen Dodge Vipers with better fuel economy.(n)
That's not too bad, the 100HP is only rated at 43ish MPG on the highly unrealistic test which they use to calculate a car's fuel efficiency.

I get about 35 MPG as a long term average, though a lot of that is short, inner-city trips (around lovely Hull). That said, I don't do enough miles around town for the horrid MPG to really bother me. I get an average of 40ish MPG when I'm driving around at home in the holidays.

It is a bit sad that a Fez ST with twice the power costs less to tax and does more MPG than that 100HP though :(...

The fiesta ST is a much newer engine.. the 100hp's motor is getting on a bit now.
I know, I know...:p. It's just strange to think that there are people running 100% stock Ford hatchbacks which make twice the BHP and twice the torque (more than twice of both with the Mountune kit) of the 100HP, whilst getting better MPG and paying way less in VED. It's amazing the difference a few years make to car engine technology.

Or you could look at it this way, Rover only managed to get about 140-150bhp from the 3.5 litre Buick designed V8 but you get 100hp from a buzzy little 1.4 and the fuel economy is down to the nature of the beast in my opinion, i seriously doubt you'd get good economy from an ST if you drove it like i drive my HP..:D:devil:

I'd get a driving ban if I drove an ST like I drive my 100HP haha :p.

Fiesta ST is likely to be my next car.. I'm in trouble.
It's likely to be my next car too, though me and the 100HP still have plenty of time left together yet :).

There's no other viable small hot hatch purchase at the moment, I guess there's the Swift Sport, but it's not massively quicker than the 100HP. A Mountune'd Fez ST on the other hand...

Drove the car this afternoon, got back home and went in for an hour. Started the car up and the immobiliser light was on, the car was running though.

I turned it off and back on again, the immobiliser light vanished, but I had to re-enable sport mode.

Mine did the exact same thing on the way back from Uni to my Hull house...it's never done it again and even when it did do it the car was no different bar the light being on. I ignored it and hoped for the best, which seems to have paid off.
