The yellow warning triangle has come on on my dashboard, but no warning message.

The handbook says this can be one of a number of things:

1) Speed limit exceeded
2) Fuel cut-off system intervention failure
3) Stop/start system failure
4) Temporary or permanent City Brake control system failure
5) Parking sensor failure
6) Exterior light failure
7) Engine oil pressure sensor failure
8) ELD system fault
9) Water in diesel filter

As I was driving slowly when I first saw it, I don't think it's (1). It's a petrol car, so that rules out (9) and I don't think it has Stop/start, City Brake control, Parking sensors (definitely not) or ELD, so that rules out (3), (4), (5), (8).

So I'm left with

Fuel cut-off system intervention failure
Exterior light failure
Engine oil pressure sensor failure.

It looks to me as if the rear numberplate lights (both of them) have stopped working but I would have expected an error message like I got when one of the daytime running lights failed.

Any suggestions as to what to do, or is it "take it to a FIAT agent"?

Many thanks

Richard

Yes the mk numbers are conf6

Hopefully a moderator will be along and move it

Easiest is to hook up a diagnostic tool and read the code from the body computer, it will just tell you what's wrong

Without one

Rear number plate or daylight run light are quite common

I don't have a diagnostic tool - where might I be able to get one from?

I use an elm327 about £5

Be careful with the elm327 some of china clones don't work too well, find one that's sold lots and read the reviews

And the free version of

Adaptor cable 3 or solder some pins together on the elm317

On an android phone

There are other ways and multiecuscan, WoW, Delphi, and some stand alone units

For this you need something that will connect to the body computer
