My wife's 2009 500 has the generic amber warning on, I checked the lights as usual and all good and could not find the fault. Check it into my local garage who are brilliant and totally reliable but they're stumped. They changed the oil pressure switch and the light is still on. They think its a wiring fault but can anyone make any suggestions? Thanks.

Recheck all the lights, including brakes lights, the DRLs (with and without the headlights on as they are twin filament bulbs, 21w without headlights on and 5W with) and number plate lights.

Wiring faults could be due to the wiring from the top of the tailgate into the car. It's a notorious problem.

Hi :)

The fact you mention the oil presdure switch.. did they get a fault code pointing that way?

Search 'maybelline' on here for lots of common wiring info ;)

Good luck.. and do let us know what you find (y)

HI had the yellow warning light come on..went of yesterday now on again.anyone help please

Ps it's a Fiat Quobo..garage read a CMR???fault showing...

Owners manual states different conditions that set generic warning light. One of them is a defective oil pressure sensor. Others are defective bulbs, water in diesel filter, defective PDC sensor and Start Stop not avaible. Don't know if all those mistakes are shown in the center panel.
Just had a defective brake light and it was shown in the center panel as soon as i pressed the brake peddle, but only at first time from startup. So look for messages after the ping sound.

The Start Stop dosent work..its saying unavailable..do you think its that..thank you for the help

This, perhaps just after start up it will be a simple fault, SS not working covers all sorts of issues its probably not working due to battery age and driving style-short trips
Thank you so much for advice..kind regards Meryl

I think I don't really drive the longer distances for owning a Diesel..May think of looking for a Petrol Quobo..Also I've had in the last year a new Battery the RAC guy fitted it..then all different warning lights started coming on intermittently...but went after a few weeks..its had a new Is it a DMDR..that fuel part??that cost a wedge..had to source the part from Fiat Polsnd as it was 100s over here
