a mate has just baught a mk2 hgt and doesnt want a turbo bit wants 200bhp.

would getting the stroker kit out of a stilo and putting it with some cams, bmc, remap, exshaust, decat and uprated injectors see 200bhp?

im just thinking if nicos MULE saw 190bhp as a 2.0l surely a 2.4 would do 200bhp cos they start life at 170bhp dont they.
 
well tell your "mate" ;) that if he could find a stilo engine and ecu that he could fit then he would see 170 and a remap gets them close to 200bhp, although apparently the 2.4 block is tall so might have issues with clearances.

Who supplys this stroker kit you keep going on about?

torque italia do one and noble at chesterfields do a rebore and stroker kit to 2.5

Do you know how much the Torque Italia kit is? I didn't think so. It's NOT a kit its an engine and it's designed for a turbo NOT NA.
 
no im on about the pistons they sell not the coupe £10,ooo jobby lol they sell the pistons and rods etc seperate dont they? i could be wrong cos it was hear say off another site.

but noble defonatley do it i think its about £1800 for everything fitted could be more but not much
 
Having longer/shorter rods and different pistons alone will NOT change the CC of the engine, what it will do is change the CR. Do not get confused with CC and CR as they are completely different. As the engine we are talking about is stroked it is the crankshaft that that will determine the overall CC. Therefore to get a 2.4cc you would also need a Stilo or custom crankshaft as this will have the longer throw needed.

no mate i just dont wana cum accross as a dickhead lol i saw a coupe for sale but its in kent so i cant buy it lol so i think im gunna go with the supercharger but im gunna change everything inside so i can run it at decent boost, the M62 will do mid 200's but with new pulley and screw who knows lol. i will be uprating the intercooler aswell eventualy.

Just tell your mate to drop in some C&B cams with a Piggyback. Rolling roads are excellenet for the thrill of experiencing your car reach peak bhp whilst you can stand next to it and watch, but as far as the pursuit of that trace on the graph that crosses the 200bhp mark, IMO your only heading for disappointment is you start speninding 1,000s on untried engine mods unless you're a mechanical genius (I didn't do that much to the Mule really but it spend more time off the road than on.lol).

I might even flog the cams and piggyback off one of these days when financial pressures mean the mule has to go (I have a C70T5GT heading for 300bhp now but its still no where near as much fun to drive as the mule). You'll have to have a spin in the mule when we sort your brakes out Donnylad. It might not be 200bhp but the noise from that engine with cams is just awesome (reason why I just can't bring myself to sell it)
 
nico lol ill get u some coin middle of next week if the stuff sells on ebay was that price for the brakes i said ok ?
