Hi all, newly a proud owner of a Fiat Tipo Life 1.0 71 plate. So far, it's a wonderful car, and I'm starting to make some work on it to make it more 'mine'. My steering wheel control buttons have the"Set +" button almost completely worn off due to the previous owner. Does anyone know where to find a replacement one of these? I've tried ebay but have had no luck.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Tipo! 👍
Yes — steering wheel button replacements do exist, but there are a few things to know:
✅ What you’re actually looking for
You want a replacement steering wheel control button / switch insert for the Tipo Life 1.0 (71 plate) — specifically the “SET+” button.
These button modules on modern Fiats are usually part of:
A button cluster insert
Snapped into the steering wheel control pad
So you normally replace the whole button panel, not just the single legend.
🔎 Where to look
Because this is a common trim-wear issue, there are parts available:
🟡 1. Fiat genuine part
Best original look and feel
Usually listed as:
“Steering wheel switch unit”
“Remote control switch left (or right)”
“Clé de commande volant”
Search by part number if possible — that’s the most reliable way.
You can often find genuine OEM units in:
ePER / Fiat parts dealers
Specialist Fiat breakers
Online parts sellers (search by VIN)
🟡 2. Used parts / breakers
eBay can be hit-and-miss, but try:
Photos + exact part number search
Local breakers / Fiat junkyard groups
Facebook marketplace / local classifieds
European Fiat parts groups (Italy/Spain often have stock)
Often someone has a spare from an upgraded trim.
🟡 3. Aftermarket / button sticker
If you just want the label to look correct (not perfect OEM):
Vinyl key/button stickers
Custom cut adhesive legends
Printed overlays
These won’t feel OEM, but will improve the look dramatically and are cheap.
🆔 Part numbers help
Usually the correct steering wheel button assemblies share numbers between:
Tipo
500L
Tipo hatch/switch variants
If you post a photo of your steering wheel control pad, someone will often identify the exact part number match in minutes.
🛠 Fitment notes
Plug & play — no coding needed if it’s the same switch harness
Steering wheel must be off or battery disconnected for safety when accessing the pad
Some trims have different button functions (so the exact unit must match)
Quick practical tip
When searching online: 🔍 Search by:
“Tipo Life steering wheel control switches”
“Tipo 1.0 steering wheel buttons OEM”
“Fiat 51940408 (example part – adjust as needed)”
Including the exact VIN helps parts sellers confirm fitment.
