Hi Guys,

Just joined here. I have a Fiat Ducato Van. I've had to jump start it previously and tried to start it yesterday and think the immobilizer has somehow been activated.

I've read the manual from cover to cover and looked about a bit but can't find any clear guidance on how to deactivate the immobilizer, if indeed, that is the problem.

Can anyone advise if they've experienced this and if so what the solution might be please?

Hi :)

Need more info Im afraid..my old 1989 2.5 probably has little in common with yours ;)

The Immobiliser is ALWAYS active.. unless the aerial around the lock barrel accepts the chip in the key

So:

Is it a modern vehicle which chipped keys
( all FIAT) ?

OR an aftermarket key fob plip device?

Is the immob light showing as soon as Ignition is turned... and with both keys?

I had very recent similar experience. (Mine was an air blockage in the turbo pipe)
But I didn't see what Ducato you have? Need details. All of the details.

Some really helpful people on here that helped me with some really good suggestions.

Steps...

The first tip is the key and immobilizer.
But there should be a warning on the dash if immobilzer is active.

Firstly, ensure you can unlock the vehicle using the key fob button.
(check van battery...check key fob battery)

Then is there power on the dash when you turn the key in the ignition to accessories setting?
Then does the fuel pump hummm

Turn the key to start.
Does the engine turn over?

I was in a similar jam just 1 month ago!
Hope this helps a little?
