Wire Taps

I've heard about these wire tap things a few times now.

I think they're something which allows you to clip onto an existing wire's feed??

Never heard of them before, so don't what they look like anyway.

So far I've tried looking at Maplins and CPC.

Where do I find these?

sounds like you're looking for scotchlock connectors 2 me? try searching for that?

Ah! Did a search for that at Maplins. Came up with "snap-lock" connectors:

yea thats what you are looking for..
Beware when using them tho, they arent really meant for larger currents and a great connection. You are probably better of cutting the wire, and soldering a join into it or use a crimp joiner, and have 2 wires in one end, and the single wire you're tapping into at the other..

I'll buy some tomorrow and have a play. I just need one for the illumination connection - tap into one of the dash bulb wirings.
