Technical Wipers on with headlights

I had an intermittent problem that has now developed into a constant irritation. When I put main headlight on the windscreens wipers come on also and stay on constantly, does not do this on sidelights. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts having the wipers on and no rain.

hi,sounds like an earth problem,

clean up the black cable one that goes from black /negative battery clamp to innerwing,

otherwise could be switchgear:-{

Sorry Charlie I never got back to thanking you for the help.

I checked the earth connections but they are all fine. A friend has suggested it's likely to be a relay somewhere that is faulty.

I recently drove from Rushden to Penzance and back without the issue a single time and then a short 5 mile local trip had the wipers on constantly, Urgh!

Still sounds llke a bad earth.

Try running additional temporary earth wires from both headlamps to see if this has any impact on the problem.
