Technical Wipers not working on first setting

Hi all,

My mk1 punto's wipers aren't working properly. They don't work on the first setting but work on the other ones. What would be causing this? I'm worried that it's only a matter of time before the whole wiper system goes!

Money is pretty tight too so will I be looking at a big bill to get this sorted?

It might be the contacts inside the motor need cleaning. Search Fiat Forum for wiper motor instructions.

hi this might be a little late but i had the same problem and i had to strip the wiper motor and regrease it which had no effect but in the end i just up rated the fuse for them and they started working again hope this helps if not already fixed

maybe inside the stalk unit position no1 is dirty
