Hi
I'm working on a friend's R reg cinquecento 1.1 sporting with the round type wiper control arm. It only seems to have one speed and when I return the arm to O ie off, the wipers just stop, i.e. no self parking, they don't stop in the same place ever time, they stop at the point I turn the switch off, any ideas?

I can't speak for the speed issue, but in terms of wiper-parking; the gearboxes in FIAT wiper motors have a series of slip-ring-tracks which keep power going to the motor itself.

There is a '3rd' ring (/arc) which is permanent +, and if you lose this; the motor can't power it's way back, when the 'wipers-on' 'feed' track has been cut.

So you need to open the plastic motor contacts-box, which is on top of the gearbox, which is in turn on top of the motor itself...

classically it's grease that has fouled the contact tracks.
