Hi Everyone,

I have damaged the wiper motor plug on my motor-home. To repair it, I have purchased the Fiat repair kit. The kit comes with a number of items: a plug housing, wires, green plastic plugs and clear plastic selves.

The distributor is unable to provide any assembly instructions. Can any of you clever folk advise, or direct me to the documentation?

Best regards, Martin

Maybe put up a few pictures of the damaged part and of the repair kit so we have some idea, then you will surely get some help.

Yes, of course!

I hope this works. Try looking at these - https://goo.gl/photos/fkbFtCq4ZtTRbrsL8

And yes, there are only 4 green things although there are 5 wires, sleeves and receptacles in the plug? The dealer ordered a second kit after I queried it and that was the same in sealed bag.

Regards, Martin
PS - I tried using the "Insert Image" button?

The plastic sleeves are adhesive lined heatshrink connectors with solder. Instruction for their use is below.

The green bungs are to seal any unused sockets in the plug housing. They go in the back of the housing before fitting the black cover. If it's a 5 way connector and you use all 5 wires, you won't need to use any of the bungs.

Thank you Davren,

Perfect answer. All understood now.

Regards, Martin

There should be some sort of mechanical locking device on the wire terminals and/or the housing to stop the terminals pushing out the back of the housing when it's being connected. It could be a spike on the terminal or a moulding inside the housing. You may need to fit the terminals into the back of the housing the correct way round for the locking device to engage.
