Dudes, it's raining and my wipers have stopped working. Lost front, rear and both washer jets I can't seem to find a fuse for them and I don't have my manual with me (stupidly) I wonder if anyone can advise me if they are on one of the relays or which fuse it is likely to be? I don't like to ask about problems as I can usually sort them but I'm a bit stumped on this one!

If out and about it's an easy fix - make a hole in the top of a water bottle - reach out and give it a squeeze. Always a good one if washer bottle empty :)
Be like the boy scout and carry a sqeezy bottle of washer fluid

 A good one for MOT's...? or do the washers have to be an integral part of the vehicle and not the driver..?

Hi Mick thanks but it's not an earth failure I have checked that, the wipers and the washers have given up I have found that the front washer wires have shorted together under the steering column which has knocked it all off but can't find a fuse for it all?

Ok so I've had a look at the fuse box and that is the only fuse which is missing, and there is no contact for it either so it looks like there is a strong possibility it has been bodged in the past

I guess I've got some MORE rewiring to do - don't ya just love Pandas :)

From experience there are 2 different types of wiper motor (and possibly 3) early ones have a bi-metalic timer for the wiper interuptus (delay) later ones have an electronic delay built into the wiper motor. Strong chance the pick up different fuse positions as well.
No help I know.
Why not take the fuses out one at a time and see if one has blown.?:)

Apologies didn't read 1st post properly - what am I like...
sounds serious if insulation has melted on cable - be sure to check fuse rating, then again they don't come any bigger than 20A at that size..? though some are known to put bits of copper wire in etc and forget about it and when demand for current rises something has to give... that services fuse don't serve any other circuits either
hope you get sorted

Thanks for your advice guys I did the fuses one by one to start with which is in the end why I posted on here as they are all ok. I haven't found the fuse for the job yet but I wasn't aware of the different wiper motors so may have to delve deeper. Although mine is an E reg (87) the wiring is starting to fail on many things
