Good morning all,
I have a 52 reg Fiat Scudo that needs new wiper arm on the driver side .. ( short story but won't bore you with details, I'll add a photo !)
I can undo the top bolt but I'm having a problem removing the wiper arm itself .. is it attached to something underneath the scuttle because it's not budging at all and I don't want to break something else 🫣
The other thing is as I'm having such a difficult time trying to source a new drivers wiper arm.. can I put the passenger side arm on the driver's side for now ( I realise it's shorter, but as an interim )
Many thanks for reading

Nothing else holds it. You just need to pry it out even, go round about it. If you go from one side, it goes on angle and won't come out.
As interim yes, you can put the other arm.
Thank you so much for you answer, confirmation and advice Mike .. super speedy reply - thank you again .. 🙏

Put a drop of oil ontop of nut that secures the arm onto the thread, they can be well seized on. For a few £'s get a "windscreen wiperarm puller" as this will put even presure all the way around, and not damage the thread. Prior to when you reasemble, clean thread with soft wire brush and a little grease. Handy tool to have, so that whenever you need to remove scuttle pan to clean out drain holes, removing wipers is easier
Kind regards
Steve

Thank you Steve for that, I was struggling with the lifting up if the arm and did spend a tenner I think it was for a couple of gadgets .... oh my gawd, so easy, when it popped off I smiled and actually laughed out loud 🤭🤭.
Thank you again
Sonja 😁

Replaced my wipers . Used one of these inexpensive tools . Made life easy
Tool always make life easier, I have been lucky down here in Sunny Devon, maybe the cars don't rust quite so much. :)
What I generally do (although harder where arm is broken like OPs) is remove nut and add a drop of oil if necessary then give the arm a bump with my hand about 6 inches along and this breaks the grip of the tapered spline and it comes off easily.
