Hey,

Afew days ago me and my friend when driving noticed how many people have roll cages in there cars... and thought it would be a funny idea to make a really cheap/fake looking one in my cinq sporting see if anyone notices or says is that fake?

I have given the project £20 budget, for the main frame i will be using an old garden herb rack thing... the only thing I spent so far as a new roll of black tape.

I plan to sprey this black or some other colour to make it look more real soon but this is an image of it so far... Please note this is just a laugh and i wont be driving around for long with it...

What you guys think of how far I got so far?

Jamie :)

If you are unfortunate to have an accident with that in there, can you imagine the pain when those bits snap and go through you...

Even "show" cages are a very bad idea as they bend and you end up trapped inside the car.

Saw an old Rover once with plastic plumbing fittings and pipework used as a roll cage.

Ok it's bad enough you have spent £20 on making a fake cage, but then posting pictures up admitting you did it :D.

£50-£100 you could of bought some tubing and some bends and made a proper one out of stainless (assuming you have a welder).

Thanks

Stainless is easier to get hold of from a local exhaust fabricator. Can be cheaper too :D.

Obviously show cages don't do anything other than make life difficult for passengers in the back aswell, so technically it still wouldn't be poper even out of carbon steel :D.

Thanks

oh yeah i thought you ment proper cage... not proper show cage lol

anyway you can make a proper cage you just need to use CDS (steam/gas pipe EU approved(or something red or blue band iirc) not too expensive.

legal for all motorsport other then international (cant see anyone here going proper international motorsport in a cento... lol) the cage needs small hole in each tube so the scrutes can check its thickness

Holy **** that car in the link looks ****!

Anyway, I think you should remove the random metal bars, they could do some serious damage to you, passenger or a passerby
